Onset LIfe
Onset is a historic Victorian waterfront village in Wareham, set along the shores of Buzzards Bay. Originally established in the 1800s as a self-sufficient resort community, Onset still preserves much of its original charm, with many classic storefronts and cottages standing today.
Wareham offers 54 miles of beautiful coastline, including sandy public beaches, estuaries, and lakes ideal for kayaking, boating, and enjoying the outdoors. Boaters can take advantage of visitor moorings, dockside dining, and an on-demand water shuttle. With Both The Bourne and Sagamore Bridges around the corner, there is so much to do! Canal cruises leave from Onset daily, Dinner trains cross the famous Cape Cod railroad bridge, and the canal bike path is a short ride away.
For Windward Pines residents, Onset offers the best of year-round coastal living and summer fun. Just minutes away, Onset Center features local dining, eclectic shops, family-friendly activities, and popular annual events, including the Wednesday summer concert series, Illumination Night, Harvest Festival, the annual Kayak Poker Run each summer, and the famous Onset Polar Plunge held every New Year’s Day. Visit onsetbay.org for a full calendar of events.
Just down the road in Wareham Center, the Wareham Gatemen play home games in the Cape Cod Baseball League, a classic summer tradition.
Pickleball and tennis courts are also a short walk away in Onset Center, and both men’s and ladies’ weekday golf leagues are at Bay Pointe Club
